Abstract

The article is devoted to the sociological understanding of the new loneliness, which became actual during the pandemic and became one of the factors affecting the social well-being of Russian society in the context of the introduction of a number of restrictive measures. New loneliness is associated with a sense of loss of social ties and relationships, as well as discrimination against various groups of the population in many socially significant areas of life in a pandemic. In order to overcome the new loneliness and improve the social well-being of Russian society during the period of the introduction of restrictive measures, it is necessary to further develop and spread the institution of volunteering, as well as develop mechanisms that introduce elements of social solidarity in society.
