Abstract

The article notes that the majority of the population of Russia lives in cities. Cities as centers of business activity, industrial potential, developed infrastructure and flexible adaptive economy. The urban economy is subject to crises and cyclical fluctuations, which affects the level and quality of life of citizens. Local governments are taking a number of measures to mitigate such fluctuations. The coronavirus epidemic has shown the vulnerability of the urban economy and the ability of all business entities to work in new conditions. The authorities provided support both to the business sector, as a barometer of the urban economy, and to citizens as the main subject of urban economy.
