Abstract

Due to the presence of a wide ethnic composition in the post-Soviet space, ethnopolitical conflicts periodically arise. One of the protracted ethno-political conflicts is the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, which aggravates the political situation in the South Caucasus. In 2020, the conflict in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh escalated, and the contradictions between the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and Azerbaijan flared up with a new force. The main subjects of the conflict settlement were Russia and Turkey. For Russia and Turkey, control of the political situation in the South Caucasus is a necessary condition for influence in the South Caucasus. Interethnic conflicts occurring in the South Caucasus also determine Russian-Turkish cooperation.
