Abstract

The article is devoted to the research of the problem of asymmetry of the economic federalism system. It is not allowed to comprehensively solve the federal policy problems. The methodological basis of the study is represented by a set of scientific concepts in the field of spatial and regional economics. The basic research method was the methods of content analysis, systematization, analysis of statistical data. The theoretical significance of the study lies in the formulation of the concepts of “asymmetry of the economic federalism system”, “vertical asymmetry”, “horizontal asymmetry”, identifying factors, forms, types of asymmetry of federalism, and kind of vertical and horizontal asymmetry. The research results can serve as a basis for the development of economic tools for federal and regional policies in the context of the asymmetry of federalism relations.
