Abstract

In connection with the expansion of the “knowledge” paradigm by supplementing this paradigm with a “competency” component, as well as the use of distance learning systems in education, the authors of the article address the issues of competency-based approach in the preparation of a sports teacher for a distance learning system. Based on the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education on physical culture and sports and the features of the distance learning system, the authors of the article consider that such competencies as information and communication, computer literacy, knowledge of psychological and pedagogical principles in organizing training process, the ability to apply various forms of organization of the educational process.
