Abstract

Within the framework of the Humanities, there is a General definition of addictive behavior of the individual, which defines it as the desire to escape from reality by changing their mental state with the help of material or non-material means. According to a number of sociological studies, the main actor of this form of behavior is the youth as a social community. This is due to the fact that often its role and status expectations cannot be met with the help of available socio-economic resources. It is the lack of these resources to meet the needs that pushes young people to identify the reference need for each social group and strive to meet it in every way. And often by any means and at any cost. In this process, certain behavioral standards are identified among young people, which in some moments are characterized by a desire for methods that are destructive from the point of view of social norms to meet urgent needs as a way of social adaptation in the group. Hence, in sociology, addictive behavior is understood as a specific type of deviant behavior. The task of our research is to update this concept and identify the factors of addiction in the youth environment.
