Abstract

This article is devoted to one of the important problems of our time – migration. It is noted that migration processes carry with them both positive and negative consequences. It is difficult to say exactly which among them prevail. The author analyzes the data of official statistics. The conclusion is made about the intermittent, uneven nature of the development of migration in Russia in the post-Soviet period. The analysis shows that a clearly defined tendency of prevalence of urbanized nature of migration is recorded. The main stages of migration processes are considered, their characteristic features are highlighted. It is noted that at the present, the current stage, migration remains a problem area, it contributes to the development of risks in an urbanized environment. However, positive trends that also arise from the development of migration processes should not be leveled.
