Abstract

The article deals with the separation of a special type of deviation – addiction as a sociology of dependent behavior. Also, new sociological knowledge uses a structural and functional approach to the study of both deviant behavior in general and addictive behavior in particular. Addiction stands out as a special type of deviant behavior that society and social groups need to stop with the help of legal and preventive actions. However, a detailed consideration of the prevention of addictive behavior in the study of deviantology leads to the conclusion about the ineffectiveness of this theory in terms of correction and prevention of modern types of addiction.
