Abstract

Gamification is new management tool based on the use of game design and technologies in work-flow, adopted by organizations to increase staff motivation and involvement. At present, gamifi-cation is mainly studied from a managerial perspective. However, first attempts of sociological study show that gamification is a more complicated phenomenon, which reflects and reinforce existent social structures. The article presents a sociological analytical model, which includes actors, gamification content, effects, and mediating and moderating factors. The model can be used to study gamification of work from a more sociological perspective.
