Features of Social Development of the Regions under Conditions of New Challenges

Abstract

Current conditions of regional social development are determined by new challenges of global nature. Pandemic coronavirus infection and related growing economic uncertainty are the key ones among them. Social development of the regions plays an important part in socio-economic development of the regions and the country as a whole. Therefore, scientific community pays close attention to the study of various aspects of social development of the regions of the Russian Federation. The scientific works devoted to social development of the regions and issues of state policy in the field of social support are reviewed in the article. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on social development of the regions is analyzed. Key areas and effective measures of social support of the population under conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic are identified.
