Abstract

Analyzing the Annual Report on the results of the activities of the business ombudsman in the Sverdlovsk Region in 2017, the author makes conclusions on the quality of the management activities of the authorities supporting small and medium-sized businesses in the Sverdlovsk region. Both clear and hidden barriers to the development of small and medium businesses are noted. A number of measures to improve the activities of the Ombudsman’s office, other structures supporting and protecting small and medium-sized businesses in the Sverdlovsk region are proposed. Purpose. To analyze current problems of small and medium enterprises in the Sverdlovsk region. Methods Research methods include a complex of general scientific methods, such as analysis, comparison, system-structural method; systematization of research data obtained by various authors, their synthesis. Results. The author analyzed the annual report on the results of the activities of the business om-budsman in the Sverdlovsk Region in 2017. Some conclusions were made about the state of the business environment in the region and the need for certain changes in the system of measures to support and protect small and medium-sized businesses in the Sverdlovsk region. Scientific novelty. A number of measures were proposed to improve the activities of structures that provided support and protection for small and medium-sized businesses in the Sverdlovsk region.
