Abstract

The article is devoted to examining the role of cultural mechanisms in the formation of patriotic values of the youth. Based on the data of the traditional analysis of documents of municipal programs of patriotic education in the cities of Kurgan and Ekaterinburg, the direction, goals, objectives and the expected implementation results are analyzed. The conclusion is made about the dependence of the processes of purposeful patriotization of the youth at the local level on the variety of cultural mechanisms forming patriotic values, on the degree of freedom from national patriotism, the development of group solidarity of local communities. Considering the patriotic values formation, a conceptual analysis of the cultural mechanism is provided, which is understood as organized interaction of cultural elements, due to which socio-cultural functioning and development is ensured. The purpose of cultural mechanism is the reproduction of elements of culture through the preservation of its bearers (social groups). Patriotism, as a manifestation of public consciousness, is a socio-cultural value. The cultural mechanisms, forming the patriotic values of the youth, are focused on the normative-value patriotism system institutionalizing and called on to develop group solidarity. The sociological analysis of cultural mechanism in this case includes revealing of explicit and latent functions of patriotic values in society. The article attempts to consider patriotic education as a cultural mechanism of the formation of patriotic values of the youth. At the same time, it is assumed that only the diversity and dynamism of cultural mechanisms for the formation of patriotic values of the youth can provide for the stability of the latter, to realize the municipal interests along with the national ones.
