Abstract

Transformations of tourism industry in the country during the COVID-2019 pandemic and under the influence of unprecedented foreign policy sanctions pressure in 2022 led to active development of domestic tourism. The purpose of the research was to study the current state and the main trends in the development of domestic tourism. Methods of analysis, systematization, comparison, and dynamic series construction were used. The analysis of individual indicators of tourist companies activity of the Russian Federation was carried out. Dynamics of the realized tourist packages to citizens of Russia both in absolute terms, and in value terms was studied. The structure of tour packages sales is shown in dynamics and the average cost of one tour package is calculated. The number of Russian tourists who bought tours of Russian travel agencies on in the period from 2018 to 2022 is presented. The main destinations of Russian tourists (top 10 regions of Russia) in 2022 and according to the results of 9 months (January-September) of 2023 are indicated. The key challenge in modern realities is to meet the increased demand for domestic tourism. This is what the main trends of tourism industry are aimed at.
