Abstract

The goal is to structure the discursive features of constructing the professional image of law enforcement officers. Research methods. The authors used the method of analyzing drawings as a modern tool for studying the image of law enforcement officers. The use of this method helps to expand the capabilities of the tools of visual sociology and psychology of perception, allowing us to determine the features of citizens' perception of law enforcement officers. The stages of the analysis are described, including the collection of drawings, their interpretation and comparison with public stereotypes about the police. The empirical basis of the study is based on the results of a survey of the population of Orel and the Oryol region, conducted in June 2024 by analyzing drawings among 244 respondents. The artistic expression of the formed image of law enforcement officers forms a consciously constructed image. The authors emphasize that this method can become a valuable addition to traditional sociological research and help in developing strategies for forming a positive image of the police in the eyes of society. The directions that ensure the approximation of the expected image are substantiated.
