O comprometimento do salário-mínimo pela cesta básica alimentar no Brasil: Evolução e assimetrias regionais

Abstract

Este estudo avalia as disparidades regionais no Brasil entre 2000 e 2023 em relação ao comprometimento do Salário Mínimo (SM) pela Cesta Básica Alimentar (CBA), buscando discutir a eficácia do SM na garantia dos direitos constitucionais. Foi utilizado um modelo de regressão loglog, com a CBA como variável dependente e o SM e o Índice Nacional de Preços ao Consumidor (INPC) como variáveis independentes. Os resultados mostram uma redução no comprometimento em todas as regiões ao longo do tempo, embora ainda elevado, em torno de 50%. No Nordeste, esse percentual é mais baixo, evidenciando desigualdades regionais. Um aumento de 1% no SM reduz o comprometimento em 0,34% (MQ2E) e 0,5% (MQO), com maiores impactos no Norte e menores no Nordeste. Reajustes do SM têm efeitos desiguais entre regiões, e políticas deveriam considerar vulnerabilidades regionais para mitigar desigualdades no acesso à CBA.
