Descomposición de las brechas de ingresos entre mujeres blancas e indígenas en el período 2007-2016

Abstract

El objetivo de esta investigación es analizar el impacto que tiene la educación en la brecha de ingresos entre las mujeres blancas e indígenas en el Ecuador en el periodo 2007-2016. A través de los an˜os las mujeres han tenido muchas dificultades por su condición en el ámbito laboral, mas aun las mujeres indígenas las cuales por su condición social se han visto discriminadas. La descomposición de la brecha de los ingresos entre las mujeres blancas e indígenas fue obtenida a través de la función Oaxaca (1973) y Blinder (1973). Los resultados de la investigación presentan una notable diferencia en los ingresos de las mujeres blancas e indígenas, demostrando que las mujeres indígenas recibían $96,50 menos que una mujer blanca en 2007 y en 2016 recibían menos $142,20. Las políticas que permiten disminuir esta brecha están enfocadas en la disminución del analfabetismo, la capacitación de las mujeres indígenas para ampliar sus posibilidades en el ámbito laboral y por otro lado concientizar a la sociedad sobre la igualdad de derechos y la no discriminación.
