Abstract

The intersection of fashion and costume design has become increasingly significant in contemporary screen and stage productions. This paper explores the evolving trends and influences that shape costume design, examining how fashion trends are integrated into narrative and visual storytelling of films and theatrical performances. By analysing the between fashion designers and costume designers, this study highlights the processes that bring authenticity and modernity to character portrayal. It delves into the impact of cultural shifts, technological advancements, and social movements on costume design, showcasing how these factors contribute to the dynamic landscape of contemporary screen and stage. Through Blank Panther and Saro the Musical and critical analysis, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how fashion and costume design intersect, influencing audience perception and enhancing the overall aesthetic of productions. By shedding light on this intersection, the study seeks to underscore the importance of costume design in reflecting and shaping contemporary culture.
