Política Industrial en Chile: Un Nuevo Paradigma

Abstract

El neoliberalismo ha desplazado las discusiones sobre la importancia de la manufactura, frente a otras industrias. Hoy, cuando día a día se ven las contradicciones y crisis del sistema imperante, se hace necesario volver al debate sobre las políticas industriales que llevan las naciones. La condición de periferia que tiene América Latina, su profunda heterogeneidad estructural, y la dependencia de los recursos naturales, ha relegado a la región a tener sendas de crecimiento que no permiten otorgar los niveles de vida que se esperan. Este trabajo argumenta la necesidad de plantear una política industrial, enfocada en las manufacturas y particularidades históricas y naturales de los países latinoamericanos, como condición necesaria para superar los desafíos de pobreza, desigualdad, y por sobre todo, para alcanzar un crecimiento económico sostenible en el largo plazo.
