Inflation, its Variability and Consumers’ Behavior in a Developing Economy - Inflazione, sua variabilità e comportamento dei consumatori in un’economia in via di sviluppo

Abstract

L’articolo analizza le determinanti della spesa dei consumatori in Marocco. I risultati empirici registrati durante il periodo 1957-1982 indicano che il reddito reale permanente esercita una influenza decisiva sulla spesa per il consumo in Marocco. I risultati dimostrano inoltre che, mentre l’inflazione e la sua variabilità sembrano produrre un effetto negativo sul consumo, nè l’uno nè l’altro fattore è statisticamente significativo nell’ambito della funzione di consumo. Infine, i risultati provano l’assenza di illusione monetaria su quella parte di consumatori marocchini il cui comportamento risulta strutturalmente stabile nel tempo.
