The Impact of Supporting Professional Characteristics on Adaptive Performance of Organization: Testing The Mediation Role of Organizational Commitment With Structural Equation Modelling

Abstract

Organizational commitment has been employed widely in the organizational research related to employee workplace behavior. Also it has effects on organizations as well as employees. Hence, this study aims to investigate the mediation role of organizational commitment on the effect of supporting professional characteristics on organizaitonal adaptive performance. The study was applied to 403 participants from various small and medium sized enterprises quoted to İstanbul Trade Chamber. Correlation, regression and structural equation modelling were employed in data analysis. Findings reveal out that supporting behavioral professional characteristics has a positive effect on organizational adaptive performance. However, mediation role of organizational commitment was not concluded in the study.
