Abstract

Information and communication Technologies (ICT) increase productivity and accelerate innovation in both its own and other sectors. In this way, ICTs are an important sector in terms of economic growth and development. With the increasing communication networks in the information age, information exchange between communities and societies have gained speed. This process has launched a change in the economic and social dimensions in Turkey, having been integrated into the world, and many other countries. In this study, a social and sectoral analysis is made based on information and communication technologies data published by TÜİK and TÜBİSAD. As a result, while Turkey's demand for information and communication technologies products is rapidly increasing, its production has been determined to lag behind in this process.
