Effect of Leadership on Employee’s Performance of Selected Manufacturing Companies in Oyo State

Abstract

The main aim of this study is to assess the effect of leadership on employee’s performance of selected manufacturing companies in Oyo state. To achieve this aim, two research questions were investigated: First, to assess the type of Leadership on Employee’s Performance of Selected Manufacturing Companies in Oyo State, this is to ascertain the leadership style common to Selected Manufacturing Companies in Oyo State. Secondly, to assess the impact of leadership style on employees’ performance in Selected Manufacturing Companies in Oyo State. Through a well-structured questionnaire distributed to a sample of 481 staff of selected manufacturing companies, data were collected and analyzed using the Method of frequencies, percentages and regression analysis, which was arrived at using the formulae developed by Krejcie and Morgan. The instrument was validated and data gathered were analysed through Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The result of the test yielded type of leadership (Adj.
