Abstract

The impact of corporate social responsibility in an organization activity cannot be over emphasized. This study established the relationship between corporate social responsibility and the financial performance of breweries companies. The study focused on the importance of corporate social responsibility has a strategy for business growth that has influence on the financial performance of an organization. The study selected a sample of five companies from a population target of all companies quoted in Nigeria stock exchange. Secondary method of collection of data was used. The sample were drawn using purposive sample techniques, the result reveals a relationship between the dependent variables and the independent variables for improving the financial performance of a firm. It was revealed that there was a significant relationship between corporate social responsibility and Return on Equity and there is a negative impact of corporate social responsibility on Net Profit Margin. Therefore, it was concluded that corporate social responsibility has a positive impact on the financial performance of Breweries Company. Management should employ the corporate social responsibility into their activities and as a strategy or an ethic practice in their organization.
