Abstract

The article analyses the new research in industrial economics. It presents the point of view of those who see industry structure as a natural and socially efficient adaptation to market conditions and contrasts it with the approach of those for whom strategic behaviour to control and transform these conditions is the focal point of the analysis. L’article analyse les nouvelles recherches en économie industrielle. Il présente le point de vue de ceux qui privilégient la vision d’une adaptation « naturelle » et socialement efficace de l’industrie aux conditions du marché et le compare avec l’approche de ceux qui placent au centre de l’analyse les stratégies destinées à contrôler et à transformer ces conditions.
