Abstract

This research estimates a translogarithmic or translog cost function for the Québec trucking industry. This cost function includes three sets of independant variables, the first being a variable measuring the physical output; the second set is four prices of factors which are used in the production process of a trucking firm and the third set is composed of five technological conditions describing the operational characteristics of Québec trucking firms.
