Lauchlin Currie: Desarrollo y crecimiento económico

Abstract

Este artículo es una guía de las ideas de Lauchlin Currie sobre los procesos de desarrollo y de crecimiento económico. El crecimiento es una condición necesaria para el desarrollo y un mínimo de ley y orden es una condición necesaria para el crecimiento. Para Currie, la causa del crecimiento no son los factores tradicionales sino la interacción social que provoca en los individuos el deseo de tener lo que otros tienen. Ese deseo los impulsa a trabajar más, abrir nuevos mercados, inventar productos, recortar gastos; todo lo cual aumenta la producción per cápita.
