Investigación: La Construcción del Sentido de Conceptos Matemáticos desde la Modelación

Abstract

Este informe plantea como eje de discusión la necesidad de brindar oportunidades educativas que favorezcan el desarrollo del sentido de los conceptos matemáticos, entendido este como la capacidad para captar la noción central de los contenidos a los que alude dicha disciplina. Se utiliza conceptualmente a la modelación matemática como un subconcepto de la resolución de problemas y se la trata como herramienta didáctica y pedagógica válida para construir el sentido de conceptos matemáticos. Se describe la planificación de las fases correspondientes al proceso de modelación aplicada al caso de la producción de carne aviar, más específicamente referido a la optimización del momento de faena de aves productoras de carne en establecimientos industriales argentinos. El problema que se formula se identifica con el modelo de crecimiento logístico formulado por Verhurst en 1837, que es esencialmente el modelo de Malthus modificado. Poner el acento en la construcción del sentido de los conceptos matemáticos a través de la modelación, es asumir desde la pedagógico una visión epistemológica de la matemática que la entiende como una ciencia en permanente construcción y que surge como un producto cultural y social.
