The Longevity Of Sports Leaders In Governing Bodies

The objective is to contribute to the understanding of the determinants of the longevity of managers and to emphasize its particular relationship with the controls established and planned in the Senegalese context. To the question: What is the relationship between the longevity of sports leaders in Senegal and the controls exercised over them? It is appropriate to respond, in light of the theory of entrenchment of managers, that beyond the advantages that can be drawn from the longevity of leaders, this can be explained by inertia both internal and external controls. On one hand, networks forming between public authorities and the sports movement attenuate the capacities of internal organs to exercise their powers. On the other hand, the existence of various actors at the national level and an international network seems to put the leaders out of control. The originality of the article lies in the fact that the question of longevity is rarely linked to the question of control in the Senegalese context. However, this is often linked to the difficulties that control bodies have in monitoring sports leaders.
