Abstract

This paper explores the commitment to business continuity and sustainability from the beginning of the Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) and monitors the evolution of the business strategy, as well as the legacy of transformation behind the continuous growth and global expansion of the firm. In an effort to unveil the organizational efforts to ensure continuous improvement, productivity, process efficiency and commitment to ethics, the authors have i nvestigated the structural workings embedded in the business fabric and the strategic initiatives implemented by the organization to help the car manufacturer pivot and transform, to make itself relevant to customers, employees, shareholders and the broade r society throughout the decades. This research was developed in the format of a case study and it focuses on the key talent behind some of the most important transformations at TMC and the organizational commitment to culture, innovation and sustainable b usiness strategy.
