La paradoja exploración explotación: una perspectiva desde la capacidad organizacional

Abstract

Entre las actividades centrales en las empresas está la de generar eficiencia, que permita usufructuar (explotar) el conjunto de conocimientos y capacidades de sus organizaciones, y también la de explotar oportunidades tecnológicas, para garantizar la permanencia en el mercado, dado un ambiente de competencia. Por lo que estas dos actividades, exploración y explotación, o continuidad y cambio, deben distribuirse apropiadamente para adaptar las estructuras de las empresas. Así, se analizan ciertos criterios para la consecución de este objetivo. Al respecto se utilizan categorías como aprendizaje y dependencia de la trayectoria que permiten obtener una clasificación de flexibilidad organizacional.
