Abstract

Aquí se presenta el discurso pronunciado con motivo de la entrega del Doctor Honoris Causa al Dr. Ricardo Torres Gaytán, mismo que fue otorgado por parte de la Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo a propuesta de la Facultad de Economía "Vasco de Quiroga". Se destaca que la vida profesional de este gran economista michoacano ha tenido como hilo conductor el contribuir a la solución de los problemas nacionales con conciencia social y conocimiento de las causas que los generan: Se concluye haciendo un reconocimiento explícito a este extraordinario michoacano, cuyo pensamiento ha enriquecido el desarrollo de la ciencia económica, y cuyas ideas no sólo han influido en forma decisiva en la sociedad mexicana, sino que seguirán siendo pilares fundamentales para el México del mañana.
