Abstract

El trabajo aborda la discusión sobre las políticas de población ubicándolas como uno de los elementos que vienen operando en la transición demográfica de México. Destaca que en el país, cronológicamente se han presentado dos tipos de políticas de población: una que ha dado lugar a un país "poblado", centralizado y con fuerte intervención del estado y otra que se viene desarrollando en un escenario de crisis de la sociedad industrial-centralizada que presenta signos de desconcentración demográfica.
