Abstract

El TLC no necesariamente nos ha conducido o conducirá a mejorar la situación económica del país; la situación del aparato productivo nacional o regional, las condiciones de vida de la población bajo un modelo maquilador basado en la sobre explotación de la mano de obra y sustentando en las efímeras y tradicionales ventajas comparativas no permiten dibujar un panorama optimista. El autor hace énfasis en que la productividad no es producto del abaratamiento de la mano de obra o de las materias primas, sino resultado del desarrollo tecnológico, la innovación, la educación y otros elementos.
