La prensa michoacana como un instrumento en la educación nacional

Abstract

Al tener presente que el panorama político y social a lo largo del siglo XIX fue desfavorable para la instrucción y para las actividades artísticas o culturales revalorizamos la función del periódico como instrumento en la construcción de la educación nacional. La especialización de la prensa se fue robusteciendo con el afianzamiento de las instituciones políticas y culturales del Estado. El fomento a la industria, a la educación, al teatro, a la botánica, a la música, etc., fue propicio después del triunfo liberal; el Estado reorganizaría su estructura y se plantearía como retos la activación de la economía y de la educación. La prensa, ya no sólo política, se encaminaría en la edificación del cosmos cultural; y en medio de la diversidad, las voces regionales fueron construyendo su propia historia. Algunos periódicos con fines didácticos son analizados en este artículo.
