Abstract

Pourquoi publier, en 1993, un ouvrage sur les cycles économiques ? Posée il y a seulement cinq ans une telle question valait à peine ďêtre débattue. Dans de nombreux pays la croissance paraissait alors s'être durablement installée ; le contre-choc pétrolier marquait la fin des turbulences qui avaient fait dévier l'économie mondiale de son sentier de croissance équilibrée. L'idée ressurgissait qu'une politique économique rationnelle, associée à une coopération internationale bien comprise, permettrait ďanticiper les écarts de comportements et de prévoir tout dérapage.
