Abstract

[eng] Opinions, Anticipations and Household Consumption Henri Sterdyniak The analysis of household responses recorded in the business survey carried out by INSEE, can explain how households foresee the evolution of employment, prices or incomes, and how they foresee their consumption or saving. Forecasting the saving rate, using this survey alone, would be dangerous, however because the answers often differ from households' actual behaviour. However, in a short run, some answers permit an improvement in a household consumption forecasts based on econometric analysis of accounting data.
