Listed author(s):
  • Patrick Guillaumont

[eng] This paper argues that after its "decline" observed fifteen years ago, development economics is presently developing again. The paper offers a critical examination of the scope and specificity of development economics, underlying its links with the analysis of poverty, market failures and risk. Some of the ideological biaises and semantical confusion which have affected development economics in the past are considered. Then the perspectives and needs of development economics are presented.
