Le ratio Cooke et le comportement des banques

  • Patrick Artus
Registered author(s):

    [fre] Les effets de la mise en place d'un ratio de fonds propres minimaux pour les banques dépendent du comportement supposé pour celles- ci ; ils peuvent être pervers en raison de la réaction des banques à l'instauration de cette nouvelle réglementation, en particulier quant au choix de la structure de leurs actifs. De plus, les conséquences de l'existence d'un niveau requis de ce capital ne sont pas indépendantes des modalités des autres composantes de la réglementation des banques (possibilités de rémunération des dépôts, fonctionnement du système d'assurance des dépôts...). [eng] The effects of imposing á minimum capital requirement for banks depend on their assumed behaviour ; they may be perverse because of bank's reactions, in particular as far as the choice of assets's structures is concerned. Moreover the consequences of such a capital ratio are not indépendant from the other existing regulation (concerning the interest paid on deposits, deposit insurance...)
