Abstract

[eng] Summary description of the «Candide» model . . Candide, canadian medium-term econometric model, was built in 1970-1972 by several federal institutions. The equations of this annual model are derived from estimations on postwar series and have dynamic characteristics. Two outstanding features distinguish candide from similar models : its size (1 600 equations) allowing for a substantial disaggregation, and the simultaneous determination of most endogenous variables. The model, constructed so as to be « general purpose » may be used for policy simulation and medium-term conditional forecasts ; moreover Candide is a framework for peripheral models dealing with specifies studies. [fre] Le modèle «Candide»: présentation résumée . .
