Abstract

[eng] Evolution of the theory of enterprise its meaning and implications. . The distinction between the marginal, managerial and behaviouristic approaches to firm-study is bound to be approximative. It would certainly be preferable to stress the difference between two tendencies — one mostly inductive and the other mostly deductive — both derived from the pur competitive model. Besides, one should bear in mind that the concept of enterprise chosen is directly determined by the orientation given to research and cannot therefore convey the same meaning in a general price theory and in an analysis of the decision-making process within the enterprise. This, however, does not account for the paradoxial disappearance of the theoretical concept of entrepreneurship nor does it provide any answer to the difficulties met in the study of the relationship between the firm and that of the macroeconomic growth.
