Abstract

[eng] The demand for money is first studied along quantitativist lines, then according to the liquidity preference theory. One of the most important task was to formulate both models in terms suitable for an econometric test. The first mode! (quantitativist " à la Chicago ") is most easy to handle in the long term. The keynesian model is particulary fitted to short run problems. The basic data are French statistics from 1920 to 1966, at an annual leve! The models are applied to previsions for 1967 and 1968.
