Abstract

[eng] Economic situation of beef farms and reform of the CAP . The systems and the economic situation of beef farms are analysed by the data of RICA (1985-1991). The first effects of the reform of the CAP on these systems are then appreciated. [fre] Compte tenu du caractère peu rémunérateur de la production de viande bovine, peu d'exploitations sont spécialisées dans cette production. Avant la réforme, les subventions directes jouaient déjà un rôle déterminant dans la pérennité des systèmes spécialisés. La réforme de la PAC risque de pénaliser les éleveurs-engraisseurs, peu extensifs, et laisse entrevoir une amélioration de la situation des éleveurs-naisseurs.
