Abstract

[eng] Intensification/extensification or variety of the different systems of ovine production . in the montmorillonnais (area «specialising» in ovine production) - The agriculture in the Montmorillonnais which is the principal area for ovine production in France has been for twenty years a place where two types of developpment - intensive/extensive- have spread and are going to determine the future of this area. Today we are faced with an ageing population, a very low number of farm workers as well as the downward pressure on the prices for ovine production and we wonder about the future of this micro area while studying the economical and sociological features of the different types of farming.
