Le développement du secteur artisanal de la pêche

Abstract

[fre] La pêche maritime en France se caractérise par le maintien d'un fort secteur artisanal. Celui-ci, malgré une chute démographique sensible depuis la guerre, semble renforcer ses positions face à un secteur de pêche industrielle qui, lui, traverse une crise profonde et décline régulièrement. Le caractère apparemment paradoxal de cette évolution peut s'analyser à partir de deux interrogations : - L'espace qu'occupent ces deux formes de production, industrielle et artisanale, n'est pas antinomique : la première n'a pas éliminé la seconde qui semble au contraire faire preuve d'une plus grande capacité d'adaptation à la crise. Quelle est donc la nature de leur relation ? Quels espaces respectifs occupent-elles? - Sur quels éléments s'appuie la pêche artisanale pour assurer sa dynamique propre? [eng] In France small scale sea fishing has survived and even expanded in front of a large scale industry-like sector in deep crisis and decline. This paradoxical evolution is analyzed. The two forms do not always conflict in terms of fishing zones, markets, employment. Small scale fishing has its own dynamics.
