Abstract

[eng] For the past ten years. Europe's global economic performances have been indifferent with slow growth, high unemployment, burdensome public expenses and various signs of inefficiency as compared to the US or Japan, particularly for industrial investments. To fight this progressive weakening of european industry more open intra-community trade would be useful, particularly in the field of public purchases and standards. A closer coordination of industrial strategies aiming at complementarities would also be needed.
