Abstract

[eng] In order to manage mediterranean natural lands (forests, matorrals, moors. . .) several alternatives are feasible : afforestation, grazing, spontaneous evolution, etc. To guide this management, the study is grounded on the concept of "patrimony" : a combination of tangible and intangible assets that help the incumbent to safeguard his autonomy and identity, and adjust over time to a shifting world. It proposes four objectives : producing biomass, maintaining diversities, avoiding irreversibilities, promoting coherency between a territory and the practices of its inhabitants. It gives way to a social concertation.
