Abstract

[eng] Farm economy has evolved during the past 30 years under pressure from a fast-expanding industrial, urban society; if agriculture responds to leadings demands from comprehensive economic and social systems, new needs in a slow- growth context will result in different farm evolution. Let us call «post-industrial society » an economical state where industry no longer generates employment growth, where income rates no longer rise, where energy costs increase. What will be the new pressure and new demands upon agriculture ? This paper develops the point of a dual farm economy.
