Abstract

[fre] Les positions acquises par les firmes exportatrices françaises doivent être préservées et l'effort de promotion des marques françaises poursuivi, mais avec des méthodes plus sélectives, donc plus efficaces. Dans la stratégie d'expansion des firmes françaises à l'étranger la promotion des marques françaises demeure importante, mais l'investissement industriel et commercial, notamment par concentration d'entreprises étrangères, prendra sans doute le pas sur la seule promotion commerciale des marques françaises. . Faut-il rêver à de futures marques internationales de l'industrie alimentaire française dans le style de Waterman ou IBM ? Mieux vaudrait conquérir une place parmi les leaders sur le plan mondial dans les filières agro-alimentaires où l'industrie française a la maîtrise de la technologie, des équipements et de la gestion. . L'ère des grandes firmes s'impose ainsi, mais dans leur sillage, des centaines d'entreprises de nombreux secteurs pourraient aussi intervenir. [eng] French brands abroad - The positions gained by French export firms must be maintained and the effort towards promoting French brands must continue but with more selective and therefore more efficient methods. In the expansion strategy of French firms abroad the boosting of French brands is still important but industrial and commercial investment especially by the concentration of foreign firms will no doubt become more important than the mere sales promotion of French brands. Must we look forward to future international brands in French agri-business like Waterman and IBM ? It would be better to gain a place among the world leaders in the farming and foodstuffs chain where French firms control technology, equipment and management. . The era of big firms will dawn, but in their wake hundreds of firms in many branches may also have a part to play.
