Abstract

[eng] The development of the rural landscape - Landscape is acquiring social status. It is becoming a subject for study and analysis before becoming the object of conscious creation. Rural landscape takes on a different meaning according as to whether it is appreciated by town- dwellers or by country-dwellers. This dual significance and the reality of these phenomena link town and country. The dialogue between the planners and the inhabitants must get under way on an increasingly objective basis in a field which has not so far been characterized by its objectivity. Local authorities will play an essential part in fhis dialogue.
