Abstract

[eng] Farm population with two occupations - The industrialisation of Poland took place by taking a considerable part of the labour force from farming (5.1 million people). A new category of farmers have two jobs. In 1970 one farmer in three had two places of work and two sources of income. Out of 3.4 million farm-owners 1.4 million live in the country and work outside farming. The problems of housing, social life, work, culture posed by this category influence the general and economic development of the country and consequently farming itself.
